GBT Capital Management, LLC, is a long/short macro hedge fund. Founded in 2014, its founder is Gary B Townsend. Previously, in 2007, Mr Townsend co-founded and was portfolio manager of Hill-Townsend Capital, LLC, a long-short hedge fund focused on financial institutions. For 10 years ending in 2007, he was a sell-side analyst with Friedman Billings Capital Markets, and 1982-1997, a U.S. banking regulator, the last 7 of which as chief examiner of the Federal Home Loan Bank System.
