The National Center for Student Success Cambridge, MA 02138 May 2010 – PresentCEO (Chief Education Optimist) • Act as primary community liaison communicating the organization’s purposeful mission, social vision, and strategic direction• Engage all stakeholders in preparing students with academic and life skills for success in the classroom and in life• Increase morale by empowering team members, with demonstrated ability to listen to ideas and adhere to criticism• Guide research and grant writing for improving academic outcomes of underserved high school and college student populations• Collaborate with partner organizations in improving scholarship access, efficiency and effectiveness of student impact programs• Manage on-the-ground community outreach to provide academic support in public housing communities• Crafted academic enrichment curricula to ensure best tutoring/mentoring outcomes for nontraditional students and student athletes• Oversee fiscal budget, manage complex records and the allocation of resources for immediate and long-term financial sustainability• Establish and manage partnerships with Chicago and Boston public school districts to serve at-risk and high school dropout populations in the organization’s after-school programs• Manage travel/accommodation budget and logistics for education policy research trips to China, Costa Rica, Canada, and Mexico Show less
